Beginning this Friday (Nov. 3), iPod lovers can get their hands on the new iPod shuffle at all Apple stores and authorized Apple Resellers.
The redesigned shuffle, which is less than half of the size of Apple’s original shuffle, comes with a $79 price tag and can carry up to 240 of your favorite tunes on one gigabyte of flash memory and 12 hours of battery life.
“With its ultra-compact design and built-in clip, the new iPod shuffle is the most wearable iPod ever,” Greg Joswiak, Apple’s vice president of Worldwide iPod Product Marketing, said in a statement. “The new iPod shuffle completes our all-new lineup of iPods for this holiday season and beyond and we hope it's going to be a huge hit.”
The release of the new shuffle comes just after the release of Apple’s Special Edition (PRODUCT) RED nano, which features a bright red exterior and 24 hours of battery life for $199. For each Special Edition nano sold, Apple will donate $10 to the Global Fund to help in their fight against HIV/AIDS in Africa.
“We’re ecstatic that Apple is giving their customers the choice to buy a red iPod nano and help women and children affected by HIV/AIDS in Africa,” said Bono, U2 frontman and co-founder of (RED) in a statement. “It's wonderful to see this incredible level of commitment from companies that are willing to lend their creativity in the fight against AIDS in Africa, the greatest health crisis in 600 years.”
